Situated in the quaint village of Fontenay, a mere 2 km from the town of Chablis, lies a family-owned estate sprawling over 42 hectares of varied Chablis appellations. For several generations, the Chatelain de Oliveira family has tendered to this extensive vineyard, deeply intertwined with the unique "Kimmeridgian" soil of the Chablis region. This exceptional soil, with its origins in the Jurassic period, is a blend of pebbles, limestone, and clay.

The sprawling 42 hectares of the Chatelain de Oliveira family estate is segmented across four distinct Chablis appellations: 7 hectares are dedicated to Petit Chablis; a substantial 31 hectares to Chablis; 3.5 hectares to Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume; and a precious half-hectare is devoted to Chablis Grand Cru "Les Clos".
