Denis Montanar is a descendant of a lineage of farmers who have tilled their domain in Friuli for four generations. The vineyards, some as old as dating back to 1920, have never met herbicides and have been organically nurtured since 1996. The domain is cradled in a unique micro-location, caressed by winds from the Adriatic Sea just a few miles to the south and shielded by the northern mountains.
The grape harvest is a gentle, hand-picked affair. The fermentation process, reliant solely on indigenous yeasts, forgoes the addition of sulfites, maintaining the wine's pure and untouched character. Clarification or filtration never brushes the natural essence of the wines. The blend encapsulates 40% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, 40% Cabernet Franc, and a delicate 20% touch of Merlot, embodying the ancestral connection and profound respect for the land's generous offerings.
